Baseball IQ
The best players think the game a step ahead. Coach Myles coaches baseball IQ — knowing the situation, anticipating the play, and making the right decision before the ball is hit — the part of the game that separates good players from winning ones.
It starts with situational awareness. Count, outs, runners, score — a smart player knows all of it and knows their job on every single pitch, on offense and on defense. Coach Myles teaches players to slow the game down so they're never caught guessing once the ball is in play.
From awareness comes better decision-making. Pre-pitch planning, base-running reads, defensive positioning, and picking up cues from the pitcher and the defense all get built through reps and conversation — not lectures. Coach Myles talks through real situations with a player until the right read becomes automatic.
Baseball IQ and the mental game go hand in hand. Composure, focus, controlling what you can control, and bouncing back after a mistake are coachable skills, and they're where preparation turns into confidence. A player who knows what to do plays faster, calmer, and a step ahead of everyone else.
